Born inside an infrastructure provider. Built to turn usage and capacity into revenue.

In 1999, the team behind Voxel, an enterprise cloud and hosting provider, couldn’t find a billing system that understood usage, provisioning, or devices. So they built their own and ran their business on it. That system became Ubersmith, and more than two decades later, it is still built for the same job.

TRUSTED BY INFRASTRUCTURE PROVIDERS WORLDWIDE

An end-to-end revenue platform for infrastructure providers

We serve businesses that sell digital infrastructure.

Ubersmith gives infrastructure providers one system to sell, deliver, support, and monetize their infrastructure and services. From contacts and provisioning to device management, billing, and customer support, everything lives in one platform.

Most billing tools are built for software subscriptions, then stretched to fit infrastructure. Ours started at the other end.

That difference shows up in unglamorous places. Metered bandwidth and power draw are first-class inputs, not custom fields. A signed quote can trigger provisioning without anyone re-keying it. Devices, IP space, and circuits belong to a customer record rather than a spreadsheet beside it. None of that is exciting to demo, and all of it is where margin quietly disappears.

We are also deliberately not everything. We are not a general-purpose ERP, and we are not trying to be the cheapest per-seat subscription tool on the market. We are the system of record for providers whose revenue depends on what their hardware and network actually did last month.

What sets Ubersmith apart

Choosing a platform is less about features and more about fit. That means understanding where it came from, how long customers trust it, and whether it can genuinely work the way your business does.

Infrastructure-native

Ubersmith originated inside Voxel, an infrastructure company. Every capability was developed around the operational realities every infrastructure provider lives with.

A partner, not just a vendor

Our customers stay an average of 14+ years because our platform is genuinely invested in a business’s growth. We scale alongside new service lines, evolving pricing models, and increasing operational complexity.

Configured to how you operate

The platform is tailored to each customer’s specific workflows, billing structure, and infrastructure setup. It adapts where larger, standardized systems require businesses to adapt instead.

A quarter century of solving one problem

Ubersmith has been through an in-house build, a rebrand, two acquisitions, and a return to independence, without changing who it is built for.

1999
Origin

A billing system built out of necessity

Voxel, an enterprise cloud and hosting provider in Troy, New York, needed to bill usage-based infrastructure and could not buy anything that did the job. It built its own system in house and called it CBMS.

2001
The name

Billing meets customer management

Voxel merged CBMS with TicketSmith, a customer management product for the data center market, and rebranded the combined platform Ubersmith. Billing and ticketing have shared one system ever since.

2002
Founding

Ubersmith becomes a company

The platform stopped being one provider's internal tool and started running other providers' businesses too. It is the year Ubersmith counts as its founding.

2011
Scale

Acquired by INAP

After roughly a decade of commercial growth, Voxel and Ubersmith were acquired by INAP, a global data center and cloud provider. The platform spent the next ten years being proven at operator scale.

2021
Independence

An autonomous business again

On July 1, 2021, Lumine Group acquired Ubersmith from INAP. Ubersmith runs as an autonomous business with its own roadmap, backed by an owner whose stated model is to buy and hold software companies indefinitely.

Today
Staying power

Built to last. The platform keeps moving.

Customers stick around for an average of 14 years. That's backed by a regular release cadence with published notes, 100+ integrations including over 60 payment gateways, and roughly 4,000 daily users across operations, finance, and support teams.

The commitments we hold

A value without accountability is marketing. These values define what a customer should expect from us and what they are entitled to demand.

01
Integrity

Limitations surface during evaluation

If the platform does not support a requirement, we raise it before a contract is signed. A billing migration that unravels post-implementation costs the customer far more than it costs us. We account for that.

02
Accountability

Your revenue runs on this platform. We operate accordingly.

Release notes are published. Upgrade paths are documented. Our support stays with you until a problem is resolved. Tickets are not closed or reassigned.

03
Empowerment

Change how you charge without asking us first

Your pricing model should not be limited by your billing tool. The platform is configurable and API-first, so launching a new metered product or a different contract term does not require a professional services engagement.

04
Diversity and inclusion

Designed for how businesses actually operate

Our customers range from regional ISPs to global data center portfolios, and our team is spread across several continents. Product decisions are tested across multiple markets, business models, and operating environments.

Serving providers on six continents

Ubersmith serves providers across six continents. Billing runs overnight in one region while support tickets open in another. The platform is built to be operated across time zones, currencies, and tax regimes.
